IPA: Not Your Father's Beer

IPA Defined

India Pale Ale Beer known as IPA, derives its name from very practical origins. British troops required beer for the long journey to India during the 18th century. Additional hops and alcohol were added since they act as a preservative. Today, most IPA beers are brewed in America. They continue the British tradition of the delicious hoppy flavor and high alcohol content for which they are known.
